Just something interesting...

BAD! Kitty Art Studio

I cannot feel good about being a woman unless you feel bad about being a man. I cannot be proud of being black unless you are ashamed of being white. I cannot respect myself for being gay unless you are embarrassed that you are straight. Tolerance has been put by the boards; it is a stale and bitter thing and we will have none of it. Equality, likewise; is condescending at best and in truth intended to demean. If I am to achieve the inner harmony and self-respect that is my due, it will not suffice for you and I to be equals. No! Nothing less than superiority will make me happy. And to ensure that I make my point, I shall commend your libraries to the flames, rewrite your histories, purge your dictionaries, and arm the thought police with power to enforce political correctness in all speech and apprehension.

~Joseph R. Garber
Just something I thought was interesting...the Orwellian thought police...and the whole freedom of speech issue that's the hot topic of the moment here in the states.
I am working on the painting today, tending children and taking clients....
don't have much to say...seems I don't have anything to pull out of my magic hat...
so just have a good saturday,
one and all.

Wow, Garbers quote is pretty incendiary. I'm not quite sure how to respond.... You've made me want to go back and read 1984. Thought police, eek.

Equality of opportunity is absolutely important, but I sure as hell don't want to be homogenous.

PS, I love your vintage images, where do you find them?

You always have the most interesting things to say! I will be tending children, cleaning house and hoping that the sale on my etsy shop pays off!
Happy Saturday to you!

Cynthia: I sure as hell don't want to be average...that's my thought on it. You know I love the way your mind works! That's what got me about this quote I came across this morning...I thought now...hhhmmm...that's interesting, not that I agree with it,(in total) but that it made me think and feel...that has a lot of value to me...equality of oportunity is important...but it's also important to make the most of what is present and make the oportunities happen for ourselves...just waiting around for the perfect moment, timing, place, thing, person...well we could all just be spending a life time waiting, so I shake things up, I ask, I go after things that interest me or ignight my passions...average I will not be. There is no monument to the average...I like that one too. Thanks for being here! I get my images from estate sales, tag sales, online research (royalty free only), and my own collection of vintage books and mags.

Blue Jude: Good luck with that sale!
