A new work...ripped off!

My New work...that I ripped off from Matisse! I love this image and always have so I did my own version of it...or, um, er...I am doing my own version. I did an Andrea Pratt background (well inspired by Andrea, it's not near as fine as hers are, but it wasn't supposed to be, duh!) and then thought why not just do the whole painting as a ripped off work? So, I did, there...take that! HA!
This is 'the dance'
36" X 24"
oils
and it's just getting kinda interesting...so I'll update in the next couple of days and show you not only better pictures, (I hope)...but a better looking completed painting.
Lemme know what you are thinking of it...I am literally watching the paint dry.
(I am bored! So, freaking talk to me people...)
Love to all,
Heather

When you were a tadpole and I was a fish In the Paleozoic time.~Smith

New work in progress.

'Substance Love'

Here is the quote that is inspiring it:

When oxygen and hydrogen find one another, their joining produces fiery passion. Out of this fire, water is born. Quaint Victorian chemistry gives us an image of one oxygen and two hydrogen atoms in a fixed molecule that bounces around from place to place. The reality of water is not so orderly. The hydrogen atoms are not owned by any particular oxygen atom. Water is a substance very much in love with itself, and the atoms connect in webs and clusters where oxygen shares around the hydrogen atoms freely, a fluid situation indeed.

I've got all the final details to do today on this work and then it will be done. I am so enjoying painting fish. Wondering what brought this on...I started looking up stuff about koi fish. Koi have a rich history and koi in the arts are historic for all types of meanings (in the links) and for creating good fortunes for the artists. Interesting right?

Well, I have to get to the easel...hope all is well your your worlds!

I'll post a finished picture as soon as I get there.

New Work updated pictures

Update...pictures are taken in studio instead of outside, so a lot of the details are lost...like the bird seed and the birds are a lot brighter than in this picture, they are robins...and to me look really like little fat robins...I wish you could see it better...but you get the idea...next the background, trees and so forth...about ten hours left to go. Her face has not changed too much, still looks the same... a better picture of her facial features is the last one, just scroll down to see.
Let me know what you think.
Lots of love,
Heather
