Elusive Muse
BAD! Kitty Art Studio
Quote for the day
***
Painting is a blind man's profession.
He paints not what he sees,
but what he feels,
what he tells himself about what he has seen.
~Pablo Picasso

Today, a day off.
I am tired and troubled.
I woke with the muse calling me from
the darkened corner of my bedroom.
Hushed tones wrapped in gauze.
Feet hit the floor
images from dreams
fill my mind,
like dawn breaking on a clear
summer day.
Self speak is easy.
Translations are
lost in the waking world.
Desire caught in a sieve
like fresh shelled sweet peas
doting my landscape with
promises of a harvest to come.
I head into the work studio,
coffee steaming,
wind cold,
mind spinning.
White canvas startles me,
a story untold,
secrets lying in wait.
Derailing the fantasy life of
a woman who
thinks she knows
what she is doing here.
I paint my story like a
poet paints with words.
Blind assassins
hand me
a weapon
cross hairs
trained on
what I do not
understand,
that elusive
holy ghost.
I seek to find.

May your day be one of discovery.
