BAD! Kitty is the very first painting I did with plaster. It is also the painting that helped me to figure out all those years ago, what I wanted to name my art studio. I love the play on words of BAD! Kitty, being that I am a grrrrrl, and that my kitty was just a baby at the time and she insisted on walking on ever. single. painting. I did before they were dry. So, I found myself yelling NO! BAD! Kitty and chasing her down to clean her baby paws off. This painting even has a tiny baby kitty footprint on the bottom of it, it’s faint but…you’ll just have to look for it. So, this kitty, he’s my BAD side, you know the one that stays up all night, sings in the moonlight (badly), smokes cigars, sleeps around, talks like a sailor, and is generally ill tempered during the full moon. He will also throw down in any back ally if you look at him crossed eyed or complain about his singing voice. He’s scruffy, and lovable and full of cat-attitude.

I’ve never offered him for sale before (at a reduced price I mean) because I love him living in the studio with me. I have started another painting just like him with a different kitty (a grrrrl kitty) and he’s telling me it’s ok for him to go live in a new place.

Happy day everyone.

I have a busy day ahead...tons of coaching clients booked...and a new work on the easel. My two boys...I swear, I don't know if it's just that they are so close in age or if it's just that stage in their lives, but they can not go more than ten minutes at any given time without fighting about something...or in their case...nothing at all.

I want to knock their heads together most of the time these days.

I shaved the dog this weekend...I don't have the money for a groomer for Mr. Wiggles...so I thought... what the heck... I could do it.

Two hours and 17 pounds of hair...later...

my dog is now so embarrassed he won't go for his walks and keeps looking at himself in the mirror asking us if his ass really looks that big, and is this what having mange looks like?

What a baby.

In three weeks that haircut will be perfect.

The cat won't stop laughing at him.

Well, it's that wonderful time in the morning when we wake the shaved apes (my boys) and strong arm them into clothes that are clean, feed them, pack their lunches and keep them from beating each other up till I can send them to school...

I am off to face the day.

I do have new art to share, and will do that tomorow. It's just been one of those weeks when I a feel like I am running up a going down escalator.

Well it's another day at the BAD! Kitty rodeo...and I am still working hard

with what I got...rounding up ideas, and waving red flags at charging bulls...no art patrons with money to spend showed up yesterday...but I shall not lose hope that today's the day that everything goes right.

I have this wonderful canvas sitting on the easel...and I can't for the life of me figure out what I am going to paint on it...I talked to it all day yesterday and it just sneered back at me...nah, nah, na-na-nah.

So, today I am going to show it who's boss...and just paint whatever I feel like...I am going to just pick a color and go for it...deadlines are not good for inspiration...but they are better than no inspiration at all...I guess.

Oy!

Aaaiiieee!

Argh!
