on her back, that have been sewn on
and then glued to make sure they never come off.
She is very lightweight.
Made from a broken Harlequin doll, and a broken cherub figurine; her arms, legs and head are all recycled porcelain.
Then I used a Goldfish cut-out of some fabric and a purple salamandar out of the same fabric...Along with some magic stars ribbon, and a ton of hand stiched glass beads...she came together.
I like the combination of legs...Woman and child...I love the fish and salamander because they symbolize her willingness to be what she is...of this earth.
They are embracing around her body, the salamander's feet are holding the fish's fin across her shoulders...And they embrace and form a new being.
One that is magic, holds the key to all things...
(she is holding a key in one hand and a sign in the other)
and the sign says:
"Live Life as if it were created just for you." ~Maya Angelou
On the back of the sign there is a passage about dreams and the connection made in history between the supernatural and the natural world through the observation of animals.
I trust she will find the home she is needed in...
Until then, I am happy to have her hanging in my studio workspace on my metal cabinet doors.
Being a magnet makes her a Go anywhere kind of gal.
MeoW! WHAT!??!
You Want it giftwrapped with handmade
wrapping paper, and a handmade card, too?!
Don't sweat it...Just let me know, and add:
$15.00
to your total price.
Here is the quote that inspired her:
"I asked an endurance swimmer,
"How is it possible for you to swim for twenty hours? What kind of mental attitude do you have?"
She said, "I believe that the water is a friend.
It wants to help me.
It does not fight against me and I do not fight against it.
We are working together." I often think of that when I am in the 'swim' of life. The waves and currents and the tides hit us all at times, and it is not always easy to say,
"The water is friendly."
It requires an act of faith, a volitional act;
it means work, but most of all it requires a will to believe.
The more we use this will, the more it becomes a part of us and the more natural becomes its application. "

BAD! Kitty Art Studio. News Update....I smell something stinky
BAD! Kitty Art Studio...with some news you can use...Warning...MeoW! Ahead...Rants from the front lines of the anti-war/anti-bush campaine.......Go get em' boys...Don't shoot till you see the whites of their eyes.
This BAD! Kitty Out--->
****
We have now learned: Two years ago, George W. Bush went behind the back of the American people and secretly authorized the National
Security Agency (NSA) to carry out surveillance of people throughout the United States.
The secret presidential edict, revealed yesterday in the New York Times, allowed massive spying, surveillance of phone calls and peoples' homes without any evidence of criminal activity, and without court order. This complete violation of the Bill of Rights was ordered without congressional debate or judicial scrutiny and oversight. It was Bush's secret, a hidden and criminal violation of peoples constitutional rights.
Bush's secret action is a violation of federal wiretapping law, the Privacy Act and a violation of the Fourth Amendment. What remedy exists when the President violates federal law and trashes the Bill of Rights? The remedy provided by the Constitution is impeachment.
This latest bombshell follows a pattern well known by all those who are demanding that Congress defend the Constitution through impeachment. Bush cynically used September 11 to violate the most important tenets of the US Constitution and international law. The war of aggression in Iraq, the establishment of a global network of secret prisons and torture centers, the unleashing of secret police spying on citizens and non-citizens alike, the evisceration of due process rights and the systematic lying to Congress and to the people about the reasons for the launch of the Iraq war - these constitute the essential case for impeachment.
The American people are demanding in ever greater numbers that the constitutional mechanism that holds high officials accountable for criminal activity be immediately applied. The idea promoted by some that Bush is too strong to be impeached is sheer nonsense and it defies the historical record. Richard Nixon was on the verge of being impeached in the last half of his second term and not long after, he won a landslide majority in the 1972 election. Clinton too was impeached in the second half of his second term, on the allegation of perjury, when he had an approval rating of 60%.
Today BushÂs approval rating is hovering around 40%, the majority of the people believe Congress should vote to impeach if Bush lied about the reasons for going to war, and now millions more are shocked that Bush secretly authorized the most powerful spy agency to spy on anyone it wanted too without court order or evidence of criminal wrong doing.
The Bush White House, in its very essence, is the negation of democracy. The people must not stand by and let cherished freedoms protected by the Constitution, be stripped away in secret.
Volunteers and organizers are working across the country to spread the message of the grassroots movement VoteToImpeach/ImpeachBush.org

BAD! Kitty Will now tell you another tasteless Joke...
Fairy Godmother
An old lady is rocking away the last of her days on her front porch, reflecting on her long life, when--all of a sudden--a fairy godmother appears in front of her and informs her that she will be granted three wishes.
"Well, now," says the old lady, "I guess I would like to be really rich."
*** POOF *** her rocking chair turns to solid gold.
"And, gee, I guess I wouldn`t mind being a young, beautiful princess."
*** POOF *** she turns into a beautiful young woman.
"Your third wish?" asks the fairy godmother.
Just then the old woman`s cat wanders across the porch in front of them.
"Ooh--can you change him into a handsome prince?" she asks.
*** POOF *** there before her stands a young man more handsome than anyone could possibly imagine.
She stares at him, smitten. With a smile that makes her knees weak, he saunters across the porch and whispers in her ear:
"Bet you`re sorry you had me neutered."

BAD! Kitty Art Studio...News Update...Please Pay Attention! There will be a quiz later.
ActForChange and Working Assets are proud to bring you an urgent alert from Care2, the largest online network for people who Care2 make a difference. This urgent action calls on the Senate to reject "Association Health Plans" -- a big-business-supported healthcare scheme to reduce coverage and get around state-level consumer protection laws.
I urge you to visit Care2 and take action today. Together, we are making a difference.
Will EastonManager,
Stop Congress' Attack on Your Health Care
Imagine if your health insurance plan could raise your rates at any time and deny coverage of the most basic care -- like birth control, well-child check-ups and mammograms -- even though your state requires such coverage. Well, the House of Representatives has already passed a bill that would allow a new type of insurance to do just that -- and we need your voice today to stop this anti-consumer legislation in the Senate.
Under the guise of making health insurance more affordable for small businesses and their employees, a big-business coalition led in part by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is pushing legislation that would create a major healthcare loophole. The misnamed "Small Business Health Fairness Act" would create a new type of federal health insurance called Association Health Plans that would be exempt from over 1,000 state consumer protection laws.
These new insurance plans would not only be able to refuse to cover services that your state requires all other insurers to cover, they would also be allowed to raise your rates at any time and would not be required to keep enough money in the bank to actually pay your bills.
Tell the Senate that this is a health care step in the wrong direction.
It's hard to imagine who could believe that such flawed legislation would help Americans, especially since the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office found that the vast majority of small businesses -- over 20 million employees and their dependents -- would actually see their premiums increase under this legislation.
But the House passed this bill in July, and the Senate is back in session this week. Your voice is critical today -- please sign our petition to send a letter to your senators and urge them to vote no on this flawed legislation.

BAD! Kitty Has Something MORE Political in Nature to say: AHEM!
BAD! Kitty Art Studio Has something to tell you:
In a few weeks confirmation hearings for Samuel Alito will begin in the Senate. Already serious questions are being raised about his record on important matters such as civil rights. As disturbing facts continue to emerge about Alito, Republicans in the Senate flip-flop on whether every nominee deserves an up or down vote - on one hand they were for it, but when extremist Republican activists soured on Harriet Miers, they decided they were against it. Now that the rightwing is popping Champagne corks for Samuel Alito, they are for it once again.
Keep in mind that the Alito nomination has already failed in one regard -- George Bush hoped it would help push his failure in Iraq off the front page. While this administration's botched management in Iraq has rightfully remained front and center, some disturbing trends have emerged around Alito's record.
Here are the facts. When Alito was nominated for his present job on the Court of Appeals, he made a pledge to the U.S. Senate that he would recuse himself from cases where he had a personal interest. On multiple occasions Alito has broken that pledge.
He broke his pledge in 1995 when he ruled on a case that involved his sister's law firm. And he broke his pledge in 2002 when he ruled on a case involving an investment firm where he had a six-figure personal investment.
Still more disturbing has been the series of shifting excuses for these serious ethical lapses. In the case of the investment firm, Alito's sponsors in the White House first claimed that a computer glitch failed to alert Judge Alito of the conflict. When that excuse began to be scrutinized, the explanation suddenly shifted, with administration officials arguing on his behalf that Alito didn't need to recuse himself after all.
Americans deserve a Supreme Court Justice who doesn't need a computer to tell the difference between right and wrong.
You can make sure that your local paper covers these lapses and gives Alito's credibility a serious examination by writing a letter to your editor.
you can use this link here to find your local paper's editor: http://www.democrats.org/page/speakout/alitoletter
And it does not stop there. On a job application for a position in the Reagan administration, Alito pointed to his membership in an organization known as the Concerned Alumni of Princeton. During his time at Princeton and when he was still promoting his membership over a decade later, this group made its name fighting integration of women and minorities on campus.
While his job application clearly points out his membership in this organization, he has now reversed course -- his response to questions from Senators last month was, "I have no recollection of being a member or attending meetings."
A person seeking a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court must be upfront and honest with the Senate -- and with the American people.

BAD! Kitty Art Studio Gets threats of leagal action

Hi All, I just got this email from some unknown who left no way to contact them...so, I thought I would adress the isssue here, so they can see it too.
Here's the email:
comments = Cease and desist from using this copywritten name or legal action will be taken against you.REMOTE_HOST: 12.75.154.47
OK....
1. The name Bad Kitty Is tademarked and copyright protected, for about a dozen diferent enities you are right. (all spelled differently or or are in some form of business that is different from the rest of them...there are other blogs/artist out there calling themselves Bad Kitty...am I sending them crazy emails?...nope....I just don't care)
2. The Name Bad! Kitty Art Studio , however (the way it is spelled and used) is also trademarked and copyright protected...by me, the artist HMBT.
3. USA laws allow variations on copyrights to/for names or business titles as long as they are not the same entity or infringing on the original copyrite owners businesses or sales/product...I am doing none of those things...I did tons of research about the way I spelled/picked my Art Studio's name...so don't send me notices about your "impending lawsuits"...if you are not going to even identify yourself...(oooohhhh even more scary) and at least explain why I must cease the use of my own copyright...
Want more info? Then leave some contact information so I can tell you how to get bent in person.
Thanks and have a shiny happy day,
Heather
