I really can't capture the depth, or the texture well enough for this painting. It is Huge and was made for hanging over my Fireplace in my old home, we had 15 foot ceilings and this fit the space well, plus it has been treated to resist heat and warping, because I made it to hang over a heat source, which is bad...but not in this case! Handmade canvas extra deep and strong.

The Dream State Series started

out of my need to understand my inner voice.

I can hear it, beating a steady back-beat in my mind.

I can feel it in my feet when I am dancing,

creating, and breathing fire.

So, when I closed my eyes and grabbed

a handful of plaster, this is what happened.

I used found objects, feathers,

costume jewelry, vintage lace, and oils.

This painting placed in the

top five in an International Mixed Media Event, in 2005.

Waking the Soul Power is the face

that I have given to my inner voice.

I guess my inner voice is a dark skinned,

tribal warrior woman.

That works for me.

gas for the cross country trip

My larger goal in this current

life experience is

patience and keeping my self control in check,

I do that by

dialogue with myself daily

about what matters,

where my focus needs to be for the day,

lists of things that need to be done,

Children that need tending,

life that needs living

even while being dedicated

to one goal or focus point right now.

I have to think like an umbrella opened

quick

against a sudden downpour,

it is the empty spot under the

shield

that is most useful

during a Gully Washer.

they don't throw up their hands every

screaming at high volume

so you really have to listen for it

This is a post I got on my POD over at Zaadz. You know it is just so freaking nice when people do these types of things just because they can, and I thank you...you all out there who understand what we are doing here.

I'm posting this for all to see, instead of sending an email to Heather directly. Heather is selling all she owns and I personally feel that it would be great to get this collection of people here to come up with some creative ideas for her–or better yet, send her links off to people you know who might want to buy something. This is a great chance for all of us to support someone who is making a BIG leap. So, here goes here are some ideas. Some will be silly and useless, however, one might be useful, so I throw them out for you to do as you wish.
1. Send a press release to your local news station. “Local artist following her dreams to KY” type of subject line. Who knows maybe a camera crew will show up at your house? Great way to generate interest and sales
2. I sent links to a friend of mine who is an art buyer here in NYC. She knows a lot of buyers here. Who knows if anything will come of it, but it's worth a shot. Her name is Ann L. incase you get an email or phone call.
3. Host a “moving” party/brunch/lunch. This is a nice way to see your loyal clients before you go AND if someone should want to buy a painting or piece of art, all the better, you don't need to ship it, they can take it home with them.
4. Send a personalized email to your BIGGEST fans and clients (if you've not done so already) and let them know what you are doing. Maybe they will pick up one more piece to help you out.
That's what I can think of for now. I'll post again if I have more ideas.

An Answer to a Question I am getting hundreds of emails about right now!

I am getting asked a lot of questions right now!
Why would You sell your ART that you most prize for those prices?!? Why wouldn't you keep it?
This is my answer for all to see, thank you Puma for asking it in such a wonderful way, it really made me think and I value that highly amoungst my friends, people who make me think. The Main Question that I am being asked:

"Because i love you i want to tell you that i think it is awesome that you are moving so far forward to follow your dreams but i think perhaps that those paintings long to be dragged to Kentucky and that if you just BELIEVE that the 3K will come your way, it will.
i wanted to buy one but it just felt wrong……. why do you think? "

Well, I would love to bring my work to KY, I can't period. We have to because of money. We need to have only what we can carry, it's important that we do this to complete our mission. My work is loved for sure, but it is also what it is. ART. I need to get somewhere and I don't have room for all the art, it's art or food…art or clothes…art or the dog.
As to why you would not want to buy my work, I would not know for sure…I guess you have more of an emotional attachment to my work than I do right now in this reality, because we have different needs that need to be met?
For me it has to be done, would you rather I throw them away, or give them to Goodwill? Because that is the other choice.
Because they can not come with us, we do not have the room. It's very simple.
You have to think about others needs through a veil of love…love asks no reasons, nor has need to be understood, it only requires support. Look into the very value of the human being involved and the virtue of their true intent, then it is easy to see the FLOW I am creating around my willingess to completly commit to a course of action, heart and soul.
