About the Fairy World Series:

The Fairy World Series has been a yearlong exploration of my unique brand of Woman. Growing up, I experienced the extremes of 1970Â’s stereotypical behavior: both of the genders were represented clearly to my little-grrrl self. I learned to fight, to fear the adults of the world, and to loath my biggest birth defect, being born female.
I wanted to play war, and I fought regularly, boys mostly. I hated the color pink, which was spoon-fed in every petite little girl bite I took. In long hair and dresses, I went about my life trying to make sense of what it was to be a girl in this world. Seeking balance, seeking my inner truth, coming to grips with the body that was at once, object/commodity, weapon/tool, and all the time weak/powerful, and shameful/virtuous.
Learning how to play the roles with gusto, I have traveled 36 years in a body that has not always felt like my own; a rental that is a little short in the legs and itchy in all the spots that are just out of reach. Fairy World allowed me to marry the warrior, and the type, or brand, of woman that I am. I love my grrrl-ness now, a beautiful, complex and scary uniqueness that defies definitions and allows ultimate flexibility. The female form is inherently preprogrammed into us to bring forth many emotions from every human being on the planet. I am one such human, and this is what I see/feel about also being classified as Female Human.

My fairies are not average beauties; they represent the different aspects of my new breed of human being, a complex being that at this time, resides in my gray matter, and now these colorful canvases too. We are all creator and destroyer, we all also have a terminal illness; itÂ’s called birth. I am proud to be this complicated being commonly known as Woman, privately known as the tiny, infinite universe. This life is full of potential, pain and change. Choice is like mathematical equations; never ending numbers spiraling into the void, life is choice; choose wisely and often. Welcome to my world.
Fairy World

About "Notes":

Notes is full of secret hidden messages, which you can't see in the pictures. It is in a simple, black wooden frame. I wanted to do a fairy cork board, kind of thing. You know where you put your to-do lists, funny clippings, notes, favorite pictures...that sort of thing. There are hidden text, items and secret messages all over the layered background. There is a huge silver heart dangling from the top right, and a note from Aristotle, the Mad Hatter, and a doodle about Fairy Springer..."on today's Fairy Springer...I slept with my boyfriend's fairy godmother!" Fun, and tons of detail..This work is one of my favorite of the series. I just let myself go, because I knew it was the last one..So I de-stressed on this work and just had fun. I love it.

I know you will too.

If you would like to make this your own, or make a no obligation appointment to see it in person.Pleasese contact me thru email here (on the blog), or thru the comments section...or you can go to my web site at

BAD! Kitty Quote for the day

Happy Monday! (I am really not that happy about it to tell the truth...I wish weekends were a month long at a time)
I thought that this was funny...I don't want tons of money...I do want to just be wonderful though, so it means something real to me today too.

I mean money makes it all easier, but it's not my main focus...I am creating the studio, for me (of course) but more because I want to try out some of the curator skills I have acquired, implementing them in my own way...And I want to take the elite or "status" out of the art buying process...I love art, I want to buy it all the time, and can't because of money...I am sick of that.
I mean I can't afford to give it away, but I am willing to sell for way below the "retail gallery" prices, because it's my own overhead, and my own work. Also, the work can be bought by anyone almost...I even have lay-away....Who else does that? I even have leasing programs for small businesses and homeowners...I am flexible, I am smart, and I am willing to sell my own work, in my own way, for whatever price I feel like selling it for...Total control...I love it. So, if you think you can't afford art...Think again. Here is an example for you:

The Locals get special pricing, because I offer free delivery or you can pick up at the studio and have a cup of tea...Or not...And save the shipping fees...So yesterdays art of the day...Would have been only $200.00 to a local...No shipping costs...See? Great award winning work, without the huge price tag. Check it out, and if you see something you like, make an offer, offer to barter me something, or haggle with me...Let's make it fun, it's not always about money.

Portlanders...This is the time to jump on some great work at low prices for the holidays...Trust me, come take a look for yourself, my work stands and speaks for itself...but I do have tons of referrals, if you so desire.

I am now really, really International...I have artwork on it's way to a new Patron today...in Ireland! That now means I have art in: Ireland, France, Germany, Holland, Mexico, Italy, Japan, Tokyo and South America...As well as dozens of Local Patrons, (Portland to the coast) and Nationally I now have art in 16 states...I'm starting to really get around!

I have so much done in the new studio. This weekend was very productive, and I think if I can stay on track that I'll be able to start taking appointments within the week. It won't be perfect, or just the way I wanted, but we have got to start somewhere, right? I just need to finish the trimwork and get the window coverings finished, and get the rest of my tools and supplies put away in a pretty but practical way. I have been unpacking boxes from the old place and getting out my fabrics, and cool stuff I have not seen in a awhile. it's exciting to see it really coming together now. I also can't wait to finish, because I have not created any "art" in at least a week and I am starting to get itchy...I need to paint!
So ...I'll be posting art of the day soon! Stay tuned....

“Fairy Tree” is homage to my three sons, who will be lights dancing in the trees of my heart, forever. Fairy Tree is about celebrating the life eternal our children give to us when they are born. They are gifts, each one. Our worlds go on, and I am grateful for their weight on my shoulders.
The images in the painting are all vintage, and they have real feathers for wings...so that every once in awhile, out of the corner of your eye...they may flutter and move in the breeze...playing fairy games as boys are want to do. There are also tiny mirrors...so you can see yourself inside the painting...fun and magical, and a great gift idea *HINT HINT*.

Where is your tree of gratitude growing?

BAD! Kitty Quote for the day

This morning...I hear the kids getting up and running around the house like wild monkeys....Trying to be quiet, because Sunday is the one day a week that Mate Man and I sleep until 7 am...Sleeping in is so nice, but makes for a short day. They know about as much about being quiet as a heard of elephants on a rampage...Flat footed heathens. So anyway, I reluctantly get out of bed and start the day....and it goes a little like this.

I have found out that my van is in terrible shape and needs a new crap load of money dumped into it...Crap. I need this fresh new hell like a fish needs a bike.

My kids are about as needy and demanding as they ever have been, in their time on this planet...I mean they were easier to deal with as tiny tots than they are these days...Crap on a stick...So they are at high pitch in the needy area.

I have so much to finish in the studio...Details, but it's overwhelming because I am getting so close to being able to open the doors and start the engine on my dream machine. I can't get it done fast enough. It is looking so nice in here...I have had dreams of moving in to the studio, and just visiting the "big house". I could even lock the door in that fantasy....naw...just kidding...I would hate my kids as neighbor's....Noisy monkeys...I guess I'll not run away from home today.

Mate Man has work to do on the cars, the studio, and me...Last night was fun. I hope he saves some energy for me later....Yummy. That's all I can say...10 years in and he is still the only person to rock my world the way he does...Love is so cool. We just keep getting better...And better.

I have to focus, so as to get all that I can get done...done today...I trust that I will do my best, and it will be what it will be. I don't need proof, I got to much freaking work to do to worry about what if's today...I will finish the studio, and you great people will come...or you won't...and I will go on either way, knowing that I didn't just try I DID.

So...I am off to DO.
Today...this moment in time, you are unbroken and ready for what lays ahead...varrrroooooom! Let's go get it.

"You have within you right now, everything you need to deal with whatever the world can throw at you."
~ Brian Tracy

Yup that's me...I have everything I need today...how about you?
I will be Living in the freaking moment, till I report on the days ups and downs tonight....I remain as always...Your dedicated reporter Grrl on the front lines of Ordinary Life...Heather

BAD! Kitty End of the Day Horoscope...

Well...this great info... as always provided by my favorite spiritual guide Sybil Ann and astrocenter... www.astrocenter.com

November 12, 2005
A new Lunar event has begun in which you have an opportunity to discard old baggage in order to make way for new ideas. There is a great deal of emotional intensity in the air, and you should use this energy to deepen your relationships with others. For you, the Moon is asking you to focus on your connection with those you come together with on a deep intellectual level. All group activities are strongly favored.

All I can say is no shit, Sherlock. My day has been one of intensity to say the least.
These are the top five things that were great about my day:
1. I got to spend the morning with My Mate Man, shopping at the rebuilding center for my studio stuff.
2. We found some lighting that will get us started!
3. I now have a totally cool fake wall in my studio to section off the work space from the gallery space.
4. During an emotional crisis later in the day, I lived in the moment and went with it; it worked out well in the end.
5. I am going to have wild monkey sex in less than an hour from now...that's the cherry on top.

The top five crappiest things of my day today:
1. My kids expensive new gamestation broke...shit...and I have a bad tire on my van...crap...
2. It was raining from I don't know where today, and the Amazing Race was in town, which of course turned everyone in the city into idiots while driving.
3. Driving in Oregon when it's raining...which is now till May or June next year...get a grip people or for the love of God, stay home!
4. The fact that I have a teenage mutant shaved ape living in my home that needs constant supervision...OMG...can you say wire hangers? I mean I think sometimes that he is really trying to make me crazy on purpose...I swear...one of these days....POW! right in the kisser...sure..fine...it'll never happen, but a mad mom can dream can't she?
5. My kids complaining that no matter how much time I give each of them...for that matter that the both of us (parental units) give is NEVER enough. It wasn't long enough, I want more...good freaking God what was I thinking? I mean, the stress of everyday life can be overwhelming by itself...but being in charge of the lives of others...that's a feaking mad mind trip...sometimes I know that I am brainwashing my kids...a good friend who passed a couple years back told me once..."girl, what the hell you think parenting is?...Brainwashing...longterm" I thought she was a crazy old lady at the time...Hey Roberta...you were right you crazy old lady. I am brainwashing them into the Men they Must become...I have an empire to build that's gonna take a lot of good people and hard work. I 'll start with what I've got.

It's wearing me out though...So I am off to bed for the fun part of my day...when I get to be the only naked woman in the room...*sigh*
And then sleep!
Have a good night...BAD! Kitty will be able to open soon!!!!

BAD! Kitty Quote for the day

Today on the other side of a rotten smelling, task ridden yesterday...I woke up thinking about this.

Yesterday, the oldest and I finally had a long overdue, heart to heart talk. With him being old enough to work and with school, friends, and now a girlfriend...I never see him, and when I do...of late it's been surly, attitude, back-talk, lies...you know... 16 year old Male stuff...I have wanted to whip him with a switch for the last oh.....6 months or so.....mind you, I have never disciplined with spanking of anykind...my kids will never know pain from my hands.

I am the worst form of torture though...we have to sit down and TALK and LISTEN...OMG you would think I was burying them alive or something...my kids tell me that normal parents don't make their children right essays about their issues, or when they get in trouble they don't get grounded for two whole weeks at a time! And when they get in trouble their parents do not make them talk about it...that's the bottom line, from what I hear these days.

I make my kids wait till I am ready to be calm and fair too...then we call a family meeting...and we sit down and look into each others eyes and we talk....if at anytime we get to a point where we are not working on the issue anymore...then we stop and come back when both parties can talk...it's a real pain in the ass to tell you the truth. I was a kid that just got the shit beat out of you, that's when you found out you did something wrong...if the beating was real bad or there was belt snapping on the way down the hall you knew you had really screwed the pooch...so I make my kids talk it out instead...My kids hate it though, even more so when after we work something out I make them go write three pages about the experience and then show it to me. They really hate that.
The water torture round here is "MOM's gonna talk to you!" It could take 2 minutes if it's a small offense, I talk, they repeat back and then add their own, I repeat back and then state clearly my point and my expectations...then we move on. Break a big one...like shoplifting...I will march your narrow white ass to the police station and have you arrested...Been there done that...so I can be a bad ass, but usually I only have to teach a lesson like that one time, then we move on. Real world consequences...I also make them say yes and no Mam, instead of OK, What or whatever else kids say when you call them or ask them to do something. That means they understand that I am Boss...and they give me the respect I expect, or pay the consequences...Talking and writing...oh the humanity! ( You Southern readers will be slapping your foreheads right now going...Well of course you teach your kids to say yes and no Mam!...what else would they say?...I know, but up here, they think it's an insult to be called mam and sir...I know, I know...I don't get it either, how can the kids tell who's boss and when?)

My boys are going to be great men if it kills me (somedays I think it is making my life span shorter). I am sending out imperfect Men into this world...Imperfect Men that will not tolerate injustice, will talk back to authority, will stand up for what they believe in, that have a social as well as a self consciousness, Men that know the truth about the world, and how to work in/with this reality without loosing yourself, and MEN that will be good Fathers, and mates. They won't beat their kids, they won't hit their mates, they won't be thieves or drug addicts or drop outs....Because I expect them not too, I show them through my daily hard work how much value they have, and how much the world needs good HUMANS like them in it. I have good boys...Everyone tells me that, I know it...But it's not because they fear me, it's because they love me enough to want to please me, to protect me, to protect their family...To love each other, so they will never be orphans, or alone in the world. Chain Breakers of the highest order are we.

Yesterday, the oldest and I worked through something that took up most of four hours of crying, talking, yelling and in the end...A good resolution. A good, solid agreement and two (really the whole five...no eight including the fur people in this home...it's been tense and snarly) much happier people at the end of it all.

My oldest is special, in that he so so mature, that it is hard for him socially. And you just try living with a Mom that is a psychic...he can't even try to lie...he knows I'll know...so it's really hard to be really bad in this house, that works for me, but it's hard on him...because he knows that when he brings his friends home to meet me (which he has to do if he wants to go of and do stuff with them) he worries that they will lie or misrepresentation themselves and I'll know, thats a real mood killer...but I am not judgmental, and I know we are all imperfect... I only look for danger...he is starting to trust that now...but it's taken a year for him to really trust that I won't judge some of these people that he brings home too harshly...but I do limit things if I sense too much baggage...most of his friends love me...they do not know I am psychic...really no one in everyday life does. His friends are always wanting to hang at his house, and he wants to hang anywhere else but here, because that's cooler...but his friends like me, and I got a pool table....yes I am smart...so I can keep an eye on them so to speak...I also let him cuss (not all the bad words but the everyday ones)...so that's way cool...he really doesn't cuss that much now...but his friends think I am the cool Mom, I know their music, I am an artist, I talk and have fun with them, but then I "seem" to leave them alone...they have fun, and they are safe...Except for burning in hell for the cussing...not when the little guys are around BTW...I have a ton of rules....they seem to like it. They tell him he's lucky to have such cool parents, he asks them if they want to trade....it's a laugh riot...not really.

It was worth every second of my time, and yes parenting like this is a bitch on time management...I mean I lost a whole days work...and my other kids lost time with me...but it was needed, and it worked out great, and I don't regret being short on funds this week, because my son is worth more than money or any other thing that it could bring. It is so time consuming, I sometimes dream about running away...but I never would, I am the only one that can ever find the remote, what would they do without me?

I have a full day of getting around town to pick up some free stuff for the studio makeover...I love www.Freecycle.org , no one has track lighting to give away yet, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. If you don't know about the freecycle in your area...you must find out about it ASAP! Anyway, I am getting some shelves and some curtains from some local gifters...and it's going to make things much nicer in here.
Then I am going over to the Rebuilding center (recycled home improvement type stuff) and get some molding, and screen building materials to build a little fake wall for my office area.

Busy, busy...have a good one everyone, stay in the moment, and do something good for yourself today!
Happy Saturday!

BAD! Kitty Reminder!

Just some friendly reminders that I am really an artist...without any art of the days...you guys might start thinking I some wanna be or something. So these are are some of the more recent award winners and some are sold...but I just wanted to remind you.....this is about art you know...art baby Art!

BAD! Kitty Quote for the day

I am sure this exact thing happened last night...I was taking a leak, when all of a sudden the bathroom door frame started shaking about...The very air was wooshing all around me, the toilet paper stood up and asked me to dance...But my pants kept getting in the way...And I realized the TP guy had his hand on my ass....beeepppppeeeeppp!
I went to bed...I laid down to watch Survivor with Mate Man, and BAM! It's 4am and time to get up...I have been sleeping like a baby for the last three days, because I am working my Lilly white off trying to get the studio up and get the Mo-Joe Show delivered...Pushed back till Monday now...Which gives me the weekend to really spend some time thinking about the display and so on...Music, PR...aaaargggh....
The studio is looking so nice I wish I could show it all to you, I have the carpets down, the walls are ready, and I am finally being able to bring out my materials and tools, in an organized fashion. I can't wait to have my first arty-farty-party. The office is now sectioned off, and I even have a place just for paper and paper arts, and a place to do my clay sculpting....Oh how I have missed sculpting the old fashioned way...I used to make garden statues, when I got a chance to sculpt that is...at the Nursery I made my own concrete forms and sold the sculpture/fountains as fast as I could make them...and planter boxes too...but now I can just make whatever I want to...for no purpose than my pleasure. I like that. I also want to start working on large assemblages now that I can...And much larger canvas...Which is my favorite, now that I can have enough room to get a 6' x 8' canvas in here to work on.

I am living in a weird world today...with mars finally moving out of retro- grade...we can all expect the easing of all delays in our lives...back to full steam ahead...woopiee!

Have a great day, I am finishing the organizing and getting prints ready to ship out...thanks to all that have ordered the prints of Fairy World 1 Harvest Moon...but she is down to her last 10 prints available...then it'll be over for her. I don't "do" huge mass reproductions (prints) of anykind...when I do (like the magnets and cards) it will be short runs and limited numbers available...Because I get bored easily, and I am an artist not a money making machine...It's all gotta stay real, it's all got to be made and touched by me...or it's not from/of me...in my mind anyway...let my kids decide if they want to mass produce my work after I am gone...Bully for them, but it's not for me.

Off to my wild blue yonder...hey Portlanders!... heads up! I hear we are gonna see sun today...be ready for the 15 minutes of Vitamin D window we will have...you never know when it could spring out and show itself...so be on your toes!

BAD! Kitty says goodnight...

So...here I am in my studio...it's almost done and I am excited...I only have some more trim work and a couple of window treatments to finish making. We found some old scrap metal in the back of the house...So now I have something to hang my work from in the front part of the gallery/studio...Tiny place, but my color scheme worked great, and the place feels larger and bright...but still homey. My Studio (working area) is starting to come together too, I was able to unpack some of the fabrics I love and get them out to be seen and used, and I also found my tons of clay...and boxes of junk (real junk) that need to be sorted by my kids into a system of bins that I got.
I still need lighting, and won't open till I have it, the facts are that lighting makes it all work. I want this one system of track lighting that is about 200.00 to cover the entire studio area, not bad...unless you don't have 200 bucks.
I am sure I'll be able to make it soon...as I just sold another Fairy World Print, to a new Patron in Ireland...she bought Harvest Moon...that makes that Run almost done. I only issued 100 of the prints....and now the Original (yea it's living at Pinky's!) is gone and that will be that for Fairy World One. So if you have been thinking about getting one of the prints or Originals...Better get a shopping....It's seems this is a year for weird, wonderful fairies...Yea for me! I hope I can afford to throw a party around Christmas...Just a party, not a show...And just have some fun and be grateful for my life...My scary, uncertain, just can't help but do it life...ain't it great? *grin*
Have a good night all, and I'll be back with the Quote of the day in the Morning!
Heather

BAD! Kitty Quote for the day...and note of Thanks

Good Morning everyone!

Pinky I am so glad to hear that the paintings arrived and that you are so pleased with them. It can be scary to buy art off the internet...from a not so great picture even.

Harvest Moon is great in different lights because I used interference paints within it...Layered into the background colors...So it seems to change with the light of the day, and at night, if it's anywhere near a ambient light, the gold dust shows up...In tiny sparkles. I made it to be a constantly changing painting, no matter where it's hung...So the magic is always there....It is Fairy world dontchca know?!

So today, my quote of the day is in honor of Pinky...Who by purchasing and then becoming a new friend has helped to rekindle my inner spirit. Thank you, for having faith in your inner self, and in the art and artist that up until recently you did not know. Thank you for having faith in me, and for helping to restore my inner faith in myself too.

Have a great day all, I am working on organizing my supplies, looking for lighting that I can afford...My kids are all home for a four day weekend and I have a whole day of day job ahead of me. Wish me luck!

If only one Fairy World or equivalent would sell in the next few days...I would be able to buy the 199.00 lighting that I really, really want...Please Universe, can I have that cool lighting...Please? Ahem....I mean if I was able to move just one artwork, I would be able to open in a week or two instead of three or more. You all know I am impatient as hell, and I hate to wait....It makes me crazy! So, please scroll down...Go to my site...
http://www.badkittyartstudio.com
and shop...Locals can still get free delivery in the PDX area...and shipping is not free any longer but I am willing to off-set the costs of shipping of any Original artwork (I'll pay 40%), to make it more affordable and workable for everyone. The shipping on prints (up the the first five) is still free, as well as the magnets...up the the first four.

Pinky, if you would please attest to the quality and workmanship of the "extras" I sent to you...the cards and magnet...that would be great, so people can hear how well made...yaadda-yadda. Thanks.

Because truthfully...I don't expect you to know, unless we have some customer feedbacks here to attest to the fact that I am what I say I am.
A truthful, honest, dependable, flexible, artist. You can count on me to take care of your needs and art buying experience in a fun and professional way, have delivered to your home/business professionaly packaged, Fine Investment Quality Art, and there is always a free bonus in every box...because I love surprises...you never know what it might be.

That's all for me now...I have to put the pedal to the metal and burn rubber on me...The day ahead is going to be long....We will get through...And do it with grace...And patience...Not much patience...But I'll do my level best to not be a brat about not having the lighting yet...I mean how can we see the art...Or do the classes without the proper lighting....oppps...I let a little of it out...I was gonna burst...I'm only an imperfect Human...sheesh! Back away from the keyboard....*artist is now mumbling to herself about the need for good lighting, how important it is......blah, blah*

Thanks again Pinky for your purchase and faith...it means the world to me...hey this crazy idea I had for getting to know the people who buy my work, (if they want too, not forced) just might work afterall...Crazy ideas have a way of doing that these days.

Be Bold!

BAD! Kitty says goodnight...

Goodnight all! I got the studio finished as far as the main rooms and kitchen area today! All I need now is about two hundred dollars to buy some kick ass lighting *go buy some art please*...and we will be set to go. I am rearranging everything to maximize space...and we are recyling everything we can find to make it work faster...we love to re-use things it makes life more fun.
So anyway, I am so tired and I have so much left to do...so I must go to bed...
Nighty-night!
Heather

BAD! Kitty Quote for the day!

Well....nuff said. I do what I want to do, I do what feels good, I just do....if it matches your drapes or you couch...all the better, but I don't paint to match trends anymore. I just paint and it is what it is.
I am finishing up the studio today...Wish me luck! I want to painting to end, now that my arms are so tired that it's hard to brush my teeth...
but it is looking really nice, I set up pictures when I am done so you can ll see.
I am proud that I stood at the counter and told the paint guy he was wrong, I didn't like the first color batch he mixed up...so being an old house painter (yes I did that too) I told him how much of each color to add to the buckets...he was scowling and grumbling about how I was going to ruin the colors that way, and blah, blah, blah....what I got was the perfect sage green and warm rich light gold...it sounds gross...I know My Mate man said "Oh. looks like pea soup and baby poop." Thanks honey...the first coat did look really bad though I thought OH mY I just pooped all over my studio...but the second coat brought out the true color, and as it dried, my mate man came home and said "WOW! you were right, these are the perfect colors for the place, I can't believe how much bigger it looks! and brighter"...(because I broke the rule about darker colors in a small space...hahahah on the rules right babe?!)

(as he was winding his way thru the maze of furniture and supplies pushed into the middle of the room. )
It does look really great, and I AM GOOD!

So it goes...I am doing fine, slept two night in a row...a big deal of me, because I have insomnia...just can't ever go to sleep and stay there for long...so it was great after two days of good sleep to wake up and feel "normal".
I am painting my heart out today, so no art for the day this week...I am also not doing art for the day until I hang the Moe-Joe show...Because I am taking them with me...the fairies anyway...well some of them...aaarrrggghhh! I really need that clone....
and more coffee....love to all...
have a great day,
Heather

BAD! Kitty Quote for the day

I am grateful my arms are still attached to my body...the studio is now 3/4 this painted...OMG! I have not done real manual labor in awhile...I can't feel my fingers...Is that a bad thing?
Oh, and my eyeballing it at the paint counter worked out great...I was scared for the first coat, but now I am sure that I am a color genius. It's warm and perfect...thank to the good lord/whoever is on duty....I love the colors. I just want to be able to do more now that this part is done...I'm going to start scouring garage sales, and freecycle, and the local junk stores and hardware stores...for inspiration. I am sure it'll come together real nice...I am really loving it so far.

So I am off to make dinner and go to bed...I am so tired...Pinky feel better soon...I think it's gonna get there soon...it better! Let us all know what you think when it get's there.

Nighty-night...Heather

Well...we don't know...she will have to check in and let us know soon. We are all dying to know what you think, once it's out of the box and yours.

BAD! Kitty Quote for the day

Oh...Good Morning! I am trying hard to live in the present moment and not let myself get side tracked in the future stuff, or wallow in the past. Living eternally in the present, that's my thought for the day....Living in the present.

I am so pleased to see questions and feedback starting to come in from you great peoples out there...So encouraging to the spirit. OK, The Head Creative Compulsive at BAD! Kitty will now answer some questions about herself...

1. How did I come up the name BAD! Kitty?
Answer: I have two cats ones named Booger and the other Lulu Bell...and at the other place (see last post) we all shared space, me and my art, the three kids, the two cats and all in about 1000 sq feet. At the time I was working on launching myself into the great unknown full time artist world, and selling everything that I made...aahhh, the good old days...anyway, I was painting like I do on canvas, but on furniture...it was a smash hit...but I got bored with furniture...I went back to canvas and had my first all hung on the wall works...that went well too...but my cats were always running across a wet table top or I was picking cat hairs out of my work or something like that...I was always saying No! BAD! Kitty...they think it's funny when I call them bad...I just know they giggle inside when I use my "mean" voice....like my kids do, anyway...I broke out the oils for the first time and went to work on a painting about my alter ego...my first oil painting in 15 years...it ended up in my Logo...which is of course my blue kitty and spawned a whole race of BAD! Kitty's...I want to bring that work out soon...anyway...that's how it came about...and I am a saucy grrl, and I liked that it was also the name of some my favorite Punk Rock Comics and a fashion line for porn stars and strippers...of course I named my place BAD! Kitty which is different, but I like the play of words about women in this reality...I am a BAD! Kitty...yes I mean it like that...and I am so Not a bad Kitty...make sense? And I just like it, because it is catchy.

2. Business
Answer: this will be my third (hopefully) successful business...I had a house cleaning business while I was in various schools, and recovering from cancer (early 20's) that was very successful, I sold it and went to Florida for awhile...came back with my Mate Man, and we started and operated Farmer browns Dirty Deeds nursery and landscape design company for almost 7 years. That went very well too...very well..we lost it all because of the economy going tits up in the small town we lived and worked in...in SW Washington, up on a hill overlooking the Columbia River...Elk in the garden and eagles overhead...anyway...the town was living off off the Mills in the area, when the mills closed so did the town...and we held on too long hoping it would turn around...it didn't and we lost it all...cars, home, business, even the kids had to give up their expensive toys so we could sell it all off to get enough together to file bankruptcy, and move to the city for work. I had to retire the garden gloves too, when my health went in the crapper after all that. So I started painting out of frustration...I didn't have any garden plans, blueprints, anything to work on so my inner creative was going crazy...so I started painting to keep busy...the rest of that story is somewhere in this blog.

3. The Opening...I was shooting for late October...but it looks like I'll be lucky to get it all done a ready to open close to late November. I'll be talking all about it for the next few weeks. If I can move some more art before the end of November...I'll have the funds to complete much sooner. *yes that's a shopping cue*

I have always just made it on my own, I have worked for others, but I am really not that great an employee...I am a great boss and business woman though, and I know how to make money in the retail, service oriented worlds...but this is so different, I don't want to commercial my work...I don't want mass reproductions, and/or a cheap novelty...I want to be seen for what I am...and always have been a healer, and a hero, and above all that a creative. If I want to make something happen....stand back...I'll make it happen. This is fun though, being the artist I have always wanted to be. I am already a respected artist...been that for years...but now I am not living in the void of representation and big money. This will be done on my terms, and I'll be profiting off of my own gray matter thank you very much, I have the power!

I am going to be working on the studio today, and I think I hate my paint colors...arrggghhh! I am going with it though and keeping at it... hard and fast. I'm also going to be getting everything ready to deliver to the Annual Moe-Joe coffee Lounge Holiday event with me as the star...oh how I love dreaming big...anyway...that'll being going in this week, and I am looking forward to another opening... and this is my favorite one of the year, because of the place, the people and it's a fun party. I was the first real full time artist the Moe-Joe really dealt with, when they opened... and I love them so much because they love me...so it's a great time. There is no other place like the Moe-Joe in town...really super great place. On 21st and SE Division...I'll post more about that later too.

So a busy day..of course is there any other kind? I'll be trying to get art of the day up...soon I hope.

What's my surprise Pinky? Is it Pinky Art? Oh! I hope it's a Pinky Original! *hint, hint* I love surprises!

Liz...are you out there...getting this message? I wish we could have talked longer last night...I need to find that damn secret government issue clone...I know I folded her up and put her somewhere...let's see, maybe this box...poop!...I just wanted to give you a shout out...that I am thinking of you.

Hey! Susanna Rose (love your name BTW, very powerful) you rock! I hope to keeping talking with you, it's so nice to meet new folks!
Come on back now ya hear!
Talk to you all later, must go work.
Love, Heather

BAD! Kitty Quote for the day

I have a collection of old magazines, books, pictures...Whatever...Bunch of stuff...But there is this one years run of LOOK! Magazine, 1929-30...The ads for the ladies mag of the times are hysterical now...although if I had to live in a time where grrrls dressed up all the time any more...I would have looked great in one of these dresses. Empire waistlines, and long flowing fabrics, texture, movement...Sparkles, I would have been a flapper for sure. Ultra deluxe, with a cherry on top.

I am thinking about my inner environment today...My philosophy...I am finally painting the Studio walls today...We have been working so hard to scrape enough together to get this idea up and off the ground, and then get materials...You know the drill...And I still had a body of work to finish when we moved in here...The story goes a little like this:
Well I was two weeks away from the delivery for the first showing (of Fairy World see site)...And almost 50% ready for both exercises of insanity...I had wanted to wait till after I delivered Fairy World to move at all...To the Fairy World show before looking for a place to launch BAD! Kitty from...Home/work situation...that would work for our kids and and schools and all that jazz...I had basically given up looking for a place that would work, when Mate Man came in and said, "put on your shoes woman, we need to go look at this house." I said I wasn't going...I was sick of looking at over priced McMansions that were stupid and ugly. Beaverton can be so over the Middle Class top if you know what I mean...Sometimes...Anyway, I get kick out of living and working and participating in the local government systems because, I am the real suburbia...Upper middle class almost white trash...Yup that's me. So I speak for the almost middle class...Well not really, it looks that way, but we eat a lot of home cooked meals, never go out, and a big event is going to a NEW park or on a nature explore that is somewhere new to us...Nearby...Five people in a mini van eats up a lot of expensive gas. We live very frugally, and for a reason. The schools are better here. I could live over in inner SE Portland too, the schools are great over there...But I disagree with the current state of taxation in the County of Multnomah...it's so bad...That we can't afford to live over there anymore, the tax's would eat us alive.

So Anyway, making a long story longer...We piled into the car and drive out here...The whole way I was bitching and moaning about how I hated looking, we should just stay where we are, give up the dream of a real working studio (for now) and just let me finish my work....(other words get out and shut it) so... we drive into a very pricey looking hood and I say "Oh no way are gonna be able to afford anything here."
We pull into the sweetest little cul-de-sac, nestled into a bank of huge Firs...to block the noise from Murray, and at the top of the rise, in the center of the sac...was our new place. (I love cul-de-sac's...Very good energy can be created in round shapes....Oops letting the OCD out sorry) anyway...it was there and as we pulled up...Another couple pulled in beside us, in the driveway.
They looked like they could afford the place...We didn't. We get out walk around, wait for the guy to show up and...Of course open the back gate and walk around the back of what I thought was a really small looking house....Push through some overgrown hedges and walk into a perfect mess of an older Japanese style, totally round yard and garden. I then turned around and saw the huge covered attatched porch and the separate little house that was attatched to a larger house....with big southern style eaves, and huge windows that would allow for a great cross breeze in the summer. I was in love. I told my Mate Man to get on the phone with the guy that owned the place (out of state) and make a deal...now...Before we even got inside the place, it's do or die in Suburbia these days for real estate...so he did...we got back into the car and drove around while Mate Man talked on the phone and hammered out a deal for the whole place...the owner wanted to rent the two houses separate from one another...We wanted the whole thing...So they haggled and came to terms (2 year lease..We don't have to move for at least 24 whole months! Whoo-hoo!)
We then went back and took a look at the place with the other couple...and I had to keep from yelling at them to get out...it's mine...while they tried to get the owner on the phone...to talk terms...sorry been there done that...now get out.
So we moved...I had to pile everything up and stop working with so much left to do and we spent every last penny we had scrimped and saved from my art sales of the year before to finance it.

It's been 5 months...we are still trying to get the place in shape (it had not been lived in for at least a year)...and I finally saved enough money to start buying supplies...Paint, lights...action! So today I paint...

BAD! Kitty Studio will be a warm inviting place to shop, learn, share, party and get your portrait done if you want to...your energy portrait that is...I paint auras don'tcha know?

It'll be so fun to open the doors to my little dream...my big BAD! dream of living like I always knew I would...as a real live artist...full time. Don't stop chasing those dreams...I've got mine by the tail...and I'll be ready to share it soon!
Have a great day, be bold, be daring, be the real you, and share it!
*artist happily trotting off to get painty with it, if you feel this is a shopping emergency, hang up and dial 9-1-1 or... just scroll down*

BAD! Kitty buys her first work of ART!

That my friends... is the cover of my very first bought from a real live artist I never met before, over the internet ART. I wanted to know what it might be like, and I went with my gut...and get this Ben here, he is brilliant...he wrote a snappy ad, put it up on CL, saying that he did flip books. I am a total comic fan...and so I wrote to him and we talked via email only. He sent me a few emails with some samples of his art...and I instantly knew that I had followed my nose to THE artist that would unknowingly, unwittingly, become part of my master plan to take over the world. Everyone...meet Mr. Ben Zurawski, flip book master extraodinaire, and my new personal art hero. He is an engaging artist with a wonderful, fun mind and was game for whatever I wanted from the word go. I told him plainly, and clearly that the only demand I had was that in some way I would be able to wipe stupid people from the planet...aka...taking over the world. (And I did not want to look like Pam Anderson...I wanted a more Urban Tank Grrl, being that Tank Girl is my favorite... that sorta thing...he nailed it!) I have to say hats off to this outstanding artwork, more than I was hoping for and the package even came with art on it!

It's just the best thing in the world...I can take out my flip book and take over the world...any time I want to....from the comfort of my own home, in my underwear...I can master the planet...wipe away bigotry, war, and all other stupid people stuff...so now, with a soy milk moustache I De-Dumb the planet.....I wish you guys could see the inside...I have to figure out a way to show it to you...remember I am artist not techie...but it's so great I can hardly stand myself.
If you need a great gift idea for this year...this is a super terrific one. I gave it to myself as a present for working so hard this last ten months on the fairy world collection and all the rest of the supporting works of this last year.

As they sell and move to their new homes, I will find other artists, and needs to have someone to take a chance to further their claim in the worlds valuables.

This time I sold Fairy World One...and I found Ben within three days of the close of that sale and bought this book from him. It's a big circle...I want to keep being a great part of it, and I have promised myself not to say anymore..."someday when things are easier, I'm gonna buy art instead of always just being able to look at it and wish." I don't live for someday anymore... I live for today, and I seed the future with my present day actions...it's easy and hard....I guess that's what I like about it.

Today when I (read: royal I here...it was really Mate Man that sprang from the warm car thru the driving drizzel) and opened my soggy, (farking) cold mail box...and there was art in the mail...I have to tell you...it was pretty great...then we were leaving the house when my Mate Man ran out to grab the mail...and I didn't open it till...like a squibillion hours (not really...but I am a really impatient grrrl) while we finished running errands...got back home, put the children to work on their new video game....and Mate Man and I ran off to the studio (across a covered porch) and closed the door...took off all our wet stuff and carefully opened it up...it was so much fun flipping thru it, that I was giddy. Not only that I proved to myself and to you my loyal readers...out there in the battlefield of real, ordinary life....there are human beings out here that have mighty talent, you might be missing the sale at Target, but this is the present they will remember, yup, you will be remembered thru art...visual dialogue...art is our treasure, art is our history...this will be passed down to my kids kind of thing...it's part of my history, my story...my evidence trail... that's what I wanted to prove. And I did it with a stranger off the internet...and it worked out wonderfully, I could not be happier.

So...faithful warriors...the holidays approach...I have tested this artist and found him worthy of BAD! Kitty Glory....aka...ARTIST Hall Of Fame.....it's in the back, yeah first turn to your right....and it is good.

You can have a wonderful Art experience just like this one...with Ben, or (Ahem) me...just to name two artist so far that really do deliver what they say they can deliver. As stated above to keep my cirle spinning, as I sell each work of art...I will purchase another artists work for my own collection...thus greasing the wheels and proving that once again...evil never wins...the force, Luke, the force...instead here at BAD! Kitty it's The Art Young Skywalker...use the ART.

Way to go Ben, and thanks man...I really love it
Feel free to ask questions...maybe I can even get Ben to make an appearance here to answer some of them...

I got art today, I got art today, I got art today and I feel fine!
It's good, you should try it.
*scroll down and shop awhile...grin*
Support living artist...if not me then some other really terrific living breathing live human being in your neck of the woods.
It's good for the soul, and you all know I love me some good soul food.
Night folks!
Heather

BAD! Kitty Quote for the day

I am working this morning on my strengths, not what needs fixing, tweaking, turned around. I am coming at my reality from another angle. I don't have to struggle with this life taking form, it will happen as it should. I am trying to "re-key" myself to the facts of real life. Which are that it is hard everywhere for everyone...we are all in the struggle...Wiggling like my fairy above...Into and out of this world we agree to live in. I am working on letting my creative spirit go where it wants, do what it wants, and learn at it's own pace. I find that I am cooking dinner, and drawing in my Journal, I am folding laundry and I am staring at the new work that is on my easel (which I drag from room to room with me if I need to), while I am driving in the car, I am looking at advertising and color combo's and the way people put themselves together, and taking notes in my mini-journal, to use later. I read art history and art theory books when "in" the bathroom. I talk about art with my kids, and re-enforce my own learning thru that process. I can't forget things that I read...so years later...I can think about that book...or whatever....and re-read it...that's how I learned to paint in the first place...I bought some books about oil painting at a garage sale, and read them. I am an OCD reader (I will literally read anything at hand....) and I can read like a thousand words a minute.....and retain near 80-90% of it...but often I then have to think about it for awhile....Sometimes months...then I pick up whatever I wanted to do/learn about and start doing it...I started painting like that...I read the books, and three months later started painting on a "whim" and as they say and it was good. So, now I am learning that I have all this information stored inside my gray matter, it's bursting forth in everything that I do and say...I am constantly creating, learning, and asking for more. That can only mean that I am "tuneing" in...I am becoming the best me I can be...Wiggling, squeezing the maximum potentail from every moment. This is what this blog is for me, a place to tune in. The bonus is the magic of getting it out of my head and making it tangible, real...something my eyes can see...and the universe can hear.

I am off to the nature park to remind myself that I am only human, and connected to this earth and these people, and this time...because I agree to be. And it is good.
Let it be.
Have a great day, and here's to the next moment to come, may we all be able to struggle less and tune in more.

You have to read this...It's what BAD! Kitty is all about...yeah that's right..."Class"

CHECK IT!

You have got to go read this artists blog if you have time...but in case you don't she wrote this little article about buying art....and it's just... so...right on. So her blog is: http://marybakerart.com/blog/
and SHE wrote this article...not me. But If I could have put it into words...this is what I would have said about buying art....or at least some part of this...:)

Ahem!
Again her blog site is:
http://marybakerart.com/blog/

Original Art–art as a status symbol
I wrote an article, Why Buy Original Art, about how art enlivens an environment and enriches lives. That’s all true. However, one of the reasons people buy art is that art is a status symbol.
Having original art says that you are educated, cultured and can afford original art, especially really good original art like mine, which means you have money. It also says that you have “class”.
Having a Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Audi, all are status symbols, but they don’t necessarily mean you have “class”.
Having a big house in a good neighborhood is a status symbol, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you have “class”.
Belonging to a variety of clubs can be status symbols, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you have “class”.
Having art is unique in imparting to others that you are of value. Art is something that people pass on from generation to generation. Art defines civilizations. Art tells people that you are not only educated, but also that you appreciate history and beauty. It is why when the early American tycoons built their fortunes, they went out and bought art, because it gave them “class”. Thank goodness they did, because today we can see Van Goghs, Monets, Renoirs in the great art museums all over the world.
There are only good reasons to buy original art, whether it is to nurture the soul, enliven your environment or to feel essential. Buying original art adds to the quality of life for everyone, yours as well as all the people around you.

The BAD! Kitty will now open his Diary...and bear all...JOKE of the day...

This is not my joke...but I almost peed myself reading it so...BAD! Kitty is of course the ruler around here...so on with the show! A BAD! Kitty Funny...
By: Danny Boy
The Secret Diary of a Cat

DAY 752 - My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from shredding on the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant and cough it up on the carpeting.

DAY 761 - Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded, must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair... must try this on their bed (again).

DAY 762 - Slept all day so that I could annoy my captors with sleep depriving, incessant pleas for food at ungodly hours of the night.DAY 765 - Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, inattempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was ...Hmmm. Not working according to plan...

DAY 768 - I am finally aware of how sadistic they are. For no good reason I was chosen for the water torture. This time however it included a burning foamy chemical called "shampoo." What sick minds could invent such a liquid. My only consolation is the piece of thumb still stuck between my teeth and the tiny bit of flesh under my claws.

DAY 771 - There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

DAY 774 - I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant. He has mastered their frightful tongue (something akin to mole speak) and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room his safety is assured. But I can wait; it is only a matter of time....

Have a good one...I still can't decide what to do for art of the day....hmmmm...tap, tap, tap....yup that's me....trying to keep up....

BAD! Kitty Journal Pages & Quote for the Day!

TODAY's BAD! Kitty Working Quote!

"Perseverance is a positive, active characteristic. It is not idly, passively waiting and hoping for some good thing to happen. It gives us hope by helping us realize that the righteous suffer no failure except in giving up and no longer trying. We must never give up, regardless of temptations, frustrations, disappointments, or discouragement."
~ Joseph B. Wirthlin (1924-)
***********************************************************
Well, I am preserving today... again...as usual. The facts are that each day I (we) work our asses off...fact is that I can be the most perfect me I can be and it won't be good enough to somebody somewhere. The fact is there are tons of talented (more than me) artists out there in the universe...there always will be someone better...I can't worry about that. My work is what it is, it is my explanation to the world of myself...a conversation with myself and the universe...I am really no more than a modern day cave grrrl, painting, sculpting and writing her world down for others to decipher later...I can just see some smarty farty person a 100 years from now saying something like "well the artist was trying to say here is..." I'll be over in BAD! Kitty Heaven laughing my ass off. It's not the size...it's how you use it.
Well...this grrl has some brass...I won't ever quit on me. Never. I know I am creating my life with thought, and purpose...I am directed like a laser beam. Driven to succeed...what's that you wonder?...Success to me is the fact that even if I never sell another work again, I'll still keep going. I'll never fail because I'll never quit...I'm stubborn like that....Most BAD! Kitties are dontcha know?

I am going to make it, you'll see when in a few years you have one of my originals on your wall at home and find out that it's worth a lot more than you paid for it....so see, you are so smart too. Not only that....but you bought something you loved, something that brought some shape, form, or texture to your inner dialogue. Something moved...and kept on going when you saw the work...that's all I want to do...move you...move myself....move the world into a place where all things are possible....and love is not a commodity, and success isn't determined by how much material wealth you accumulate in your life. Passion...Persistence....Drive....Love....Creation....Destruction....Birth...Death...
it's what it's about...I am going to go live like it's the last ten seconds of my life today...what are you up to?
Will it build you? Will it make you feel better about you?

Right this minute I am going to go move mountains now...so I can find some spare change under the living room boulders for some black paint...OH the humanity! A kitty with no paint....and so much to paint about...damn boulders...such a pain to move around the cave by myself...see above reference to modern day cave grrl...

BAD! Kitty Art Feature of the DAY!

BAD! Kitty Art Feature of the day!
Unfurl
24" X 30"
Wrapped sides, no frame needed, ready to hang
oils
The colors are richer and the flower/pods are deep and rich in color...lost in the digital world...alas...
***Today's Blog Special Price***$$275.00***
Now I have been thinking hard on this shipping thing...it's crazy expensive, so as a compromise to all parties...I would like to offer free shipping cost quotes per request, and then what ever that cost is I'll pay 40% of the total actual shipping costs. This would be for USA shipping only, (international quotes )are also free) are available upon request...we can negotiate a fair price on the shipping. As usual the free shipping will stay in effect for prints up to five, and/or magnets up to the first four (those are almost gone BTW). I want art to be affordable, but the facts are that I am not wealthy enough to pay all of the costs for shipping, and make enough money on the low prices on the sales of the artworks, to be able to afford more supplies to continue working. I hope this plan will be more win/win for everyone.
My standard 7 day (from when you get it) no-questions-asked return policy is still in absoulte effect. I want you to be happy, and buying art off the internet can be a scary thing. I have many happy customer refferals, as well as international and national business refferals as well. I also have a 100% customer satisfatction rating with Ebay, I've been a member of that company for years, have made many (100's) of sales, and have never had a negetive complaint or feedback on any of my transactions. You are my patron, hopefully one that will develop a realtionship with me and the art and yourself. I want it to be a good interaction...you matter to me.

Quote that inspired this painting:
"overcoming challenges 1. Knowledge of self 2. Knowledge of others 3. Desire to work 4. Desire to learn 5. Ability to say :Yes" and "No" 6. Ability to pick friends 7. Turn back on bad advice 8. Recognize inner beauty 9. Persistence 10. Avoid temptation" ~unknown

This painting is from my new works, I have a new style forming and a change is sweeping thru me right now. This is representaional of my unfurling of own my wings, bursting forth from the pods of dogma and obligation, and giving myself permission to be naked, and imperfect, and sensual, and passionate about my life. I color my world in this way, I choose my use my past as fuel to inspire and complete this transformation.

Where is your life's path taking you? What pod's are you trying to burst free from? What makes you feel brave enough to allow yourself the freedom/risk of spending the time, out in the open, to unfurl and dry your wings? What happens when you find yourself on the other side of pain, and discover a vast new world? What happens to you when you expose all of yourelf to the world?

These words are my diary, my quest to uncover the questions hidden by the answers. This is the second in the "Secrets" (Which has already been spoken for) series...This is number 2....Unfurl.

Have a great day.

I thought you guys might like to see what I look like...
also I have updated my work in progress, I'll post more later, but I have changed the title from Judith's Horns to Just Horns...Because it turned into a self portrait, and the growth she helped me complete thru her own choice of expression and act of faith in herself...Inspiration and my muse...but defiantly me and about my journey! Stay turned!
*** Quote for the Day***
"Never regard study as a duty, but as the enviable opportunity to learn to know the liberating influence of beauty in the realm of the spirit for your own personal joy and to the profit of the community to which your later work belongs."
~
Albert Einstein

I am studying, day and night. Working at all times that it is possible. My book is coming along quickly...All those journal pages...I have committed (to myself) that I will complete 7 , 2 page spreads a week, I want it to be ready for Christmas. Somebody is going to get a very inspirational and powerful art book this year for a present...

Commitment to the now almost five thousand a month that are reading this blog daily is also a 7 day a week job/joy. I look forward to seeing the comments I get, and the people who resonate with the message here. My Art Studio will be opening soon, and here I hope to be able to offer seminars and opportunities for art parties with other artists in the area...and be able to go back to an older passion...Aura/Energy portraits. I miss fleshy folks...
I would love to hear more from you all, what you like, what you don't like, what you want to see or talk about, ask a question...Or something. Would anyone be interested in tips and techniques? Or things like that?

anyway all I know, with that many of you out there, all over the world, checking in, what are you thinking? What's profitable about you and your life to the greater whole of the community? What do you do for these types of outlets?

Just some random thoughts. I would love to get a dialogue going with more of you, I know you are out there. Pinky is so great, being brave, getting it out of her head and into this reality we are living in and dealing with. Let's all get really, real...Let's all be be brave and bold and OH, before I forget...
here's the extra SAuCE.
Art feature of the day up soon...see more of me soon!
Heather

A place to be, do and feel what you need/want to, safely. Empowering for all humans, is the goal, my vehicle is the art that pours out of me like water. I can't stop. I know what I am doing is the right path for me, and I Investing time into building a new belief system about the real me...I am feeling lighter and more positive in that this is the way for me.

Art is Powerful stuff...Bringing the inside out, bearing it I am naked to this reality ...Real, whole and ready. I will do it or die trying. Bring it.
I have faith in myself...That;s all I need...Well that and continuing to be stubborn...That helps to. Go ahead, tell me no. I'll get excited, every no brings me closer, every rejection is another one down, and the numbers for stubborn people like me are what matters...Keep throwing it against the wall till something good sticks...That's always been my theory.
I will never quit.

BAD! Kitty End of the Day Horoscope...

As always...for the best in real horoscopes and the like brought to you by: http://www.astrocenter.com

November 2, 2005
Don't let the positive energy of the day pass you by, Heather. You are able to grab hold and make greater use of it than most, so don't hesitate to get going early and keep on going until late. Stop contemplating the issues, and take action. Take the best aspects of each side of the issue instead of having to feel like you are restricted to simply one side or the other.

BAD! Good Morning to you***Quote for the day***

"On a cold winter's day, a group of porcupines huddled together to stay warm and keep from freezing. But soon they felt one another's quills and moved apart. When the need for warmth brought them closer together again, their quills again forced them apart. They were driven back and forth at the mercy of their discomforts until they found the distance from one another that provided both a maximum of warmth and a minimum of pain. In human beings, the emptiness and monotony of the isolated self produces a need for society. This brings people together, but their many offensive qualities and intolerable faults drive them apart again. The optimum distance that they finally find that permits them to coexist is embodied in politeness and good manners. Because of this distance between us, we can only partially satisfy our need for warmth, but at the same time, we are spared the stab of one another's quills."
~ Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860)

*****

Being me and I am finding Art kind of the same way...artist/people wanting to ban together, people of course can't really handle "together" very well, so more often than not, It's a few meetings here or there and then it's over with at least a couple of people pairing off and becoming friends. Finding and keeping friends as an adult is harder than I ever thought something so seemingly simple would ever be. I mean... I like
p-nut butter...you too?! Let's be best friends! It's not like that anymore...it's not about commonalities...it's about the question; can I stand the pokey parts of this person, as-is, to want to continue trying to be around them?

I am really picky...I hate to be pinched or poked...and so friendships have been hard to come by. I have never been one of those women that can have casual friendships...I don't commit to long term relationships easily...I mean you want to get into my pants...That's an easy one...Well not that easy, I may be the BAD! Kitty...But I'm really like so vanilla, granola; a sluty prude when it comes to sex...but if you want to get into my head...or even father my heart...I got better than Fort Knox protection going on in there, now let me tell you...that's another story altogether. I have high expectations of the people I let in...I know they do of me as well...It's about who I REALLY am...I am charming...I can charm the damn birds from the trees....But that is my protection, my skill set, not really me. The real me is the spirit driven, not easy going, wound tight as a spring most of the time, creatively OCD, problem solving , and reporter grrrl.
I am really a fierce woman...I mean it takes some brass to hang out with the new me...I shoot from the hip these days...I mean I'm no Bitch...not even close...but because I am a Hero/healer energy type and my formal education (yup I went to school after all, thanks to my own Moxie...not the government or my family...yup that's a snub to both/all of them)... I know it's hard to tell with my style of writing sometimes) is in two areas: Biology sciences & spiritual, theology (all of them....more philosophy now then where I started from, I am no expert...but well schooled and still learning)

I have a tendency to fix things, and people. So, I figure it's a skill that is similar to what The Trump must experience all the time....why do people really want to know you? What is their motivation...with The Trumpanator, its obviously money/power...but me...Little old me, well it's to fix the little things. The Broken wings of peoples lives. It's hard to know when someone is looking, with their hand out for help, if it's because they really are "that into me" or if it's because they want fixing. If they want fixing, then the relationship revolves around them, their drama, their dilemma, their past baggage that justifies their current behavior, their addictions to gossip and dirt (wanting to know all about me and my very dramatic and colorful past and growing up...I mean buddy, bring a lunch), their need to be needed, or wanting mothering. Those always end up with me holding the short end of the wishbone. All I wanted was a friend...most of the time, it's the "disposable" friendships that I find. I am a person who feels the pokes of people too well/easily to want to go out and be poked half to freaking death, just so I can find the one (or many more) that has/have the just right quills. I'm lazy/tired, and jaded too.

I am not experiencing that feeling so much these days...when you live in the moment, and shoot from the hip...people have a way of avoiding, or sorting themselves in/out of your life for you. I recently went down to Knowing NO One other than the people that lived under my roof. these days... after blogging about it,(for the first time being really me...), because of the art and my "other" work...I now just tell people what and who I am...I then let the people sort themselves. It's easy. Being all of the "me's" at once is hard to manage...the hats, you know....guide, healer, artist, business woman, Smart Human Being That Is Plugged "in".

I am a psychic...so...what are you gonna do with that? I am an artist...so? I am a Healer...so? I am Smart, and Sarcastic, and charming and sexy, and funny...so? I am a Horticulture Expert...so? I am also a non registered, non practicing Medical technician...(just below LPN)...I am all those things...so? If you like the arty farty me...you can buy that...it's all over the web....if you like the healer side...well ...there are outlets for that too...let's see...got a flower bed that needs fixing, a marriage that's falling apart? What can I do for you? All of it....and the funny thing is I WANT TO! I just don't want to feel poked, prodded or shunned anymore...I mean really folks, you think I can walk around shaking people's hand's saying hello's...and when asked , "what do you do for a living?" Just imagine the reactions I get when I say that I am an Artist and a Psychic. I either get fearfully shunned, made fun of, asked a squibillion questions, hid from...or any and all combinations of those in a mixed crowd...Respect...I don't get any of that...but if you need fixing....where do they come? Perception...is reality.

So...in general society I have learned; I leave off the parts that are "offending or places of negititive emotion for either party" and get on down the road. Thing is... I have taken personal risks lately with Real Humans...started from the beginning being real honest...and they didn't freak or try to "use" me! And I can help and do all my "stuff" because if I can't don't then I am not being fully really myself in any given moment, I give freely all the time, because it feels right to me...not to make you love me, or stay near me...but it's part and parcel of who I really am...Authentication of me...and it's all ok too! OMG...you are out there...I should write a freaking book...what blogging has done for me...a Personal Testimony by Heather....to be continued.

I just don't want to get shoved away when I get "done" fixing or trying to be helpful. So being honest, in the moment, and real about boundaries....has let the people sort themselves...I have friends again...I have the comfort of friendship...my call was answered...thanks Universe! (BTW the Universe needs like a personal assistant...a PDA or something, because as the Queen I need better/more insant access....where do I pick up my Backstage Pass to the Universe again?...Oh there it is...on my neck stalk...hehehe...)

But the point is...I have finally figured out that I can handle a little poking...Because there ARE others out there looking for the same. "socializ-ation staves off depressive episodes", or so my Doc told me, recently...She was right.

Go poke around...to be loved, be lovable (Ovid)...to see change...change (Buddha one among many)...to be my friend...strap on the seat belt...It's going to be a bumpy ride...(Bette Davis)
To be real...my life is running ahead without me...must go, will get the art of the day up soon.
Cheers...To Being real...and just-oh-so-pokey!
Heather

And the BAD! Kitty Jumped over the moon...

This is my horoscope for today...I never read them til the end of the day that way I know if they were right or not.
anyway...

November 1, 2005
Feel free to upset the equilibrium in order to have your own needs met - especially in the bedroom, Heather. It could be that in an effort to maintain peace and keep everything on an even keel, you have been neglecting your desires for the sake of pleasing someone else. Making compromises for others can be noble, but it may never get you exactly what you want. This is a time for you to be more aggressive in your pursuit of love - especially in your pursuit of sex and passion.

So since I need some needs met...and I know some of you friendly regulars know what I mean...so I'm off to sweat out the yuck of the day...and get some flow happening again!
Yee-haw! shit boy howdy...BAD! Kitty Rides!
Last call on the Feature of the day...
not really...
buy some freaking art, I am starting to feel like a used car salesman...that wears plaid...and black socks with white shoes...see no self respecting fine BAD! ass artist should have to shake it like that ( I am talking about me here...ahem)....so, for the love of pete...buy something...the holidays are coming up you jive turkey.
Nighty-night...where's the freaking Midol ......aaaaaaaghh!
Heather

BAD! Kitty Update

Just a quick note...with the prices of everything going up as fast as they are...I can no longer offer free shipping on Original artworks...the quotes I got three weeks ago, doubled today...so at the already low prices of the artwork, I can't afford the additional cost. I will still be offering free shipping on prints, cards and magnets.***limits on that offer to come soon, as I have to re-think my strategy on this blow-out-the-studio marketing plan...."oh Business Heather, are you in here?"...Oh, there she IS, handy grrl and she already has her calculator.***
More soon!

Must see in person, There are millions of tiny dots (stars) diffused in the sea blue green background, and the reds are a russet/crimson red. The sculpture its self is about being my own entity, and doing my happy days now, instead of somewhere down the line...The future is no place to put your better days. (Dave Matthews)

Me, Myself and Mark BAD! Kitty Quote for the day

Photo copyright Mark Des Marets 2005

Another of Mark's photos's from his travels...see what I mean about his style? He takes the best pictures about everyday life...that's where all the interesting stuff happens anyway. I am trying to pick an art of the day...it's getting harder, because no one is taking me up on my terrific prices...so maybe I'll just go to an Art of the next couple days...Instead...what do you guys want...me to keep putting them out there, keep bringing out stuff that's not my site or just have an Feature of the Week?

I'll let you guys decide...More features...Or more stuff from the studio...

What do you want me to do?

Talk to you soon! Heather
